Raining Dogs

It's been raining cats and dogs here in New York City the last few days. And boy are we all tired of it. The weather definitely affects the whole mood of the city...after days of rain and cold we are all a little grumpy. So I have to keep looking on the bright side of things. 1) Our park is now nice and green because of all the rain AND 2) it's sometimes sort of fun to dry down the dogs.

I drop the towel on them and let them go nuts. They look like little puppy ghosts.
Anna was so fast I couldn't keep up. She just spun and spun until she ripped the towel off:
Then she got right in my face to tell me she didn't think it was very funny:
Charlie was a good sport though. I mess with him so much he just sits and takes it:
I call this one Santa Anna:
What do you enjoy about long rainy days?

  1. ugh,we've had so much rain it's hard to know what I enjoy about it...I just want to feel the sun on my skin for a sustained period of time! But in another season, I would say curling up with a good book and some music...

  2. LMAO! I think Santa Anna is my favorite. Too funny. Our dogs are so prissy they would tiptoe carefully through the rain and only pee on the concrete. Sigh.

I've been way out of the bloggy loop, but I'm back and it's great to see you again! Can't wait to read more as I'm getting all caught up!

  3. Great photos! My favorite part of long rainy days is curling up with a book or movie and listening to the rain.

  4. Thanks for the comment on my blog. What kind of dogs do you have? (It's kind of hard to tell from the pictures, though my guess is that Anna is a golden retriever or lab...maybe?)

And I don't enjoy much about long rainy days. I used to love them back in Texas, because they were often accompanied by lightning and thunder or at least something more than a drizzle. In Germany, however, we only seem to get drizzle, which is pretty much the constant state here from October until April (think Seattle or London-esque).

  5. Thanks everyone for the comments!

Andi - Glad to see you back in the bloggy loop :)

Sarah - I bet you miss Texas! My husband's from Texas and I think he's starting to get a bit homesick too. And Anna is a full-blooded Cheasapeake Bay retriever. She loves water, the colder the better. She was in heaven in Alaska. Charlie is a mutt--a rescue dog. We think maybe Golden retriever and Rott?? Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  8. Aww, puppies!

I actually really love rainy days - making a mug of tea and either curling up in a cozy chair if it's cold, or out on the porch swing if it's not so cold (and not too windy!), and watching the rain and reading. Good times.
