It's very evocative, and it really is 'speculative' fiction - it could very well happen in a time not too far from the present.

I worked in a bookshop throughout uni and high school, and had a giant Oryx and Crake poster framed on my wall - of this version of the cover http://www.kapiticoastlibraries.govt.nz/userfiles/image/Images/book%20covers/Oryx%20and%20Crake.jpg

I believe it said something like, 'Who is Crake?' across it, then 'God? Genius?' and a third I can't remember :-)

Atwood has a new dystopian novel coming out this year, possibly titled "The Flood". Am so very excited!meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04145009525892663369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6345341059185062738.post-2857037638458539942009-02-06T22:03:00.000-06:002009-02-06T22:03:00.000-06:00Finally! I think it was one of the best books I read in 2006. (I read it the summer before I started keeping a book blog.)Jenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07832420356107544084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6345341059185062738.post-11945232055308158002009-02-05T19:04:00.000-06:002009-02-05T19:04:00.000-06:00I haven't read this book, although it sounds like ...I haven't read this book, although it sounds like a really good one. She really makes you feel Snowman's isolation in a way that few post-apocalyptic books have managed. The Oceanside Animalshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16894063884048051561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6345341059185062738.post-30907251747501826022009-02-04T20:27:00.000-06:002009-02-04T20:27:00.000-06:00Cats Eye was the last time I tried Margaret Atwood...Cats Eye was the last time I tried Margaret Atwood.
